Dr. Smith is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, and the American Board of Addiction Medicine, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.  He is currently president of the SC Society of Addiction Medicine, and Medical Director of LRADAC Detox and Treatment Center in Columbia SC.  Dr. Smith was born in Colorado, but grew up here in Camden and is a graduate of The Citadel. After graduating from The Medical University of SC, Dr. Smith served 8 years as a U.S. Air Force flight surgeon before returning home to Camden to practice family medicine.

Dr. Smith and his wife, Kathy live just one short block away from the office, so in every sense, The Roy Smith Family Clinic is a real family practice. The Smiths have two children.  Lanier is a Junior at PC, and Nicholas is a PC Sophomore.
